Due to the massive impact of the printing press and the European education system, the art of prose was developed in Tamil. As a result, the punctuation marks used in European languages have become inevitable also in the Tamil language.</p><p>It is a known fact that punctuation marks and their proper usages are essential for any piece of writing. This article aims at enunciating when and how those punctuations were used in Tamil text. It also attempts to say what was used earlier in Tamil texts in place of punctuation marks.</p> ER -
