Abstract

Tho.Paramasivan often known as Tho.Pa, has written more than 15 books which focus on the historical, archaeological and anthropological aspects of Tamil society. Tho.Paramasivan’s Panpattu Asaivugal is a collection of essays capturing the cultural symbols and practices of different communities.  He has a firm opinion that women remained the mainstay of religion and spiritualism in Tamil Nadu.  This article is aimed to analyse information related to women in rituals, Occupations, Relationships, Games, Female deities in his book Panpattu Asaivugal.
